How to measure your dog for a perfect fit
Three numbers and five minutes with a soft tape are all it takes to pick the right size. Here’s how we measure dogs in the studio.

Most sizing mistakes happen before an order is placed, with a guess instead of a tape. The good news: you only need three numbers, a soft tape measure and a treat or two. Here’s how we measure every dog that visits our Hackney studio.
Before you start
Use a soft tailor’s tape, not a metal one.
Ask your dog to stand on all four legs, head up, on a flat surface.
Keep the tape snug, but loose enough to slide one finger underneath.
1. Back length
Measure from the base of the neck, where the collar sits, to the base of the tail. This is the number our size guide is built around, so measure it twice.
2. Chest
Wrap the tape around the widest part of the ribcage, just behind the front legs. Deep-chested breeds such as whippets, greyhounds and boxers often need a size up for the chest, even when the back fits.
3. Neck
Measure around the neck where a collar would sit. Neck size matters most for jumpers and turtlenecks, which should pull on without a struggle.
Between two sizes? Go up for coats and raincoats, which sit over fur, and down for knits, which stretch.
Check against the guide
Every product page has a size guide and a breed finder, and our full size guide lists all measurements in one table. Still unsure? Send us a side photo of your dog with the three numbers and we’ll tell you which size we’d choose.
And if it doesn’t fit after all, size swaps are free, including delivery both ways.
