Five ways to enjoy rainy day walks
London rain isn’t going anywhere, and neither are walks. Five small habits that make wet days easier for you and your dog.

In London, a rainy forecast is just a forecast. Dogs still need their walks, and with the right kit and a few habits, wet days can be some of the best ones.
1. Dress for the drizzle
A raincoat with a hood keeps the back and neck dry, which is where most dogs feel the cold first. For low-slung breeds that collect water from the pavement, a full rain suit such as our Puddle Suit also covers the legs and belly.
2. Be easy to see
Rainy afternoons get dark early. Bright colours like sunshine yellow stand out against grey streets, and reflective trim catches car headlights.
3. Keep it short and sniffy
Swap one long walk for two shorter ones. Let your dog sniff around: a slow, curious walk tires them out as much as a long march.
4. Prepare the way home
Leave an old towel by the door before you head out. Dry paws, legs and ears first, then the coat. A quick paw rinse removes grit and road salt in winter.
5. Dry the gear, too
Hang raincoats to drip dry at room temperature and give them a gentle shake before the next walk. Never put them on a radiator: heat can damage the waterproof coating.
There’s no bad weather, only the wrong coat.
Our Hooded Raincoat is fully waterproof with taped seams, ready for the next downpour.
